Former media aide to late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has urged the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, to retain Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle.

Ahmad said Chelle has shown a strong understanding of the Super Eagles technical dynamics.

Posting on X, he noted that with Chelle, Super Eagles will dominate Africa in the near future.

He wrote: “After last night’s result, which wasn’t what we all hoped for, I hope the NFF will continue with Coach Eric Chelle, as he has clearly demonstrated a strong understanding of the Super Eagles’ technical dynamics.

“If he is stayed and is given the needed support, the team will surely dominate the continent in future tournaments.”

The Atlas Lion of Morocco defeated the Super Eagles of Nigeria 4-2 on penalties at the ongoing African Cup of Nations, AFCON, on Wednesday night.

The match was decided on penalties after the contest ended goalless after extra time.
