Ex-Super Eagles midfielder, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, says the current players are “small boys” if he compares them to the team that clinched gold at the 1996 Olympics.

According to Okocha the Dream Team had too much quality and would outclass the present squad in a game of football.

The 1996 group had big names like Victor Ikpeba, Kanu Nwankwo, Sunday Oliseh, Daniel Amokachi in their prime.

During their historic run in the United States, they beat big teams like Brazil and Argentina, to clinch Africa’s first Olympic gold medal in football.

“They (current Super Eagles) stand no chance,” Okocha said, according to Soccernet.

“It is the number of goals they will concede we should be talking about.”

“These are small boys. We are talking about Yekini, Oliseh, Nwankwo Kanu, Taribo West, etc.

“I don’t even want to talk about myself. These boys are learners.”
