Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has offered updated information on the fitness statuses of several key players ahead of the club’s Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend. With Arsenal aiming to maintain their position at the top of the table, the availability of influential squad members remains a point of focus for supporters and analysts alike.

Arteta confirmed that William Saliba has not yet returned to full team training as he continues to manage an ankle issue that has kept him sidelined in recent matches. The defender’s recovery has involved careful monitoring, and while he appears to be improving, Arteta indicated that a final decision on his participation will depend on how he responds to the upcoming training session.

Similarly, Jurrien Timber remains doubtful due to a recent knock, and Declan Rice is also uncertain after missing midweek action through illness. Arteta described both cases as being assessed on a day-to-day basis, highlighting the club’s cautious approach amid a congested schedule that intensifies the importance of player fitness.

The manager also addressed Leandro Trossard’s situation, indicating that his readiness for selection is being evaluated in the same manner as other fitness concerns. This ongoing assessment reflects Arsenal’s broader strategy to balance competitive demands with the long-term health of its squad.

Amid these uncertainties, Arsenal received positive news with the return of Gabriel Jesus from a lengthy ACL layoff. Arteta praised Jesus’s comeback performance, suggesting that the forward could now press for more significant involvement, adding depth options at a crucial stage of the campaign.
