The Senate yesterday appointed Oyelola Yisa Ashiru (APC Kwara South) as its new Deputy Leader.
The Upper Chamber also appointed Nwebonyi Peter Onyeka (APC Ebonyi North) as the new Deputy Chief Whip.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced the new appointments at plenary.
Ashiru was elevated to the position of Senate Deputy Leader, which became vacant following the appointment of Senator Dave Umahi as Minister of Works by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
