Barcelona have taken a huge step toward sealing a permanent deal for Marcus Rashford from Manchester United ahead of the 2026 summer transfer window.
The English forward joined Barcelona on loan in July 2025, and the Spanish giants are now close to activating the purchase clause in the agreement. There are reports that the Catalan club are prepared to trigger the €30 million buy option included in the loan deal to keep Rashford permanently.
Barcelona have also reached personal terms with Rashford, with the forward agreeing to a three-year contract to stay at the club beyond this season. The England international is reportedly willing to take a significant wage cut to fit within La Liga’s financial regulations.

He now has 23 goals and assists across all competitions for Barcelona this season, already surpassing the 19 he recorded with Aston Villa and Manchester United during the 2024/25 season.
The 28-year-old has bern fantastic since arriving in Spain, contributing goals and assists while adapting well to the system under manager Hansi Flick. Rashford’s performance have convinced Barcelona that he should remain part of their long-term plan.
The move is now expected to be finalized once the remaining financial and regulatory details are completed meaning Rashford could soon make his exit from Manchester United permanent.
