Bayern Munich striker, Harry Kane, scored four goals as they thrashed Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 in their first Champions League game of this season.

This has seen Kane become the highest English goalscorer in history of the competition, moving ahead of ex-Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney.

Rooney held the record with 30 goals in 85 top-flight European matches.

Kane scored number 30 for Bayern Munich with a first-half penalty and then took his tally to 33 during a sensational second half.

It has taken Kane only 45 games to overtake Rooney’s record.

Kane is already the leading scorer for the England men’s national team, again overhauling Rooney at the top. The former Manchester United forward notched 53 goals in 120 appearances for the Three Lions, with Kane’s tally 68 and counting from 100 outings.
