Real Madrid coach, Alvaro Arbeloa has taken all the blame for their shock defeat to second division side, Albacete in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday.
He said he was responsible for the team’s 3-2 defeat against Albacete, which led to their exit from the Copa Del Rey.
He said via BBC, “If anyone is to blame for this result, it’s definitely me — the one who made the choices about the team selection, the way we wanted to play, and the substitutions.
“I’m not afraid of failure. I understand that anyone who wants to call this defeat a failure is doing so. Failure is part of the journey toward success.
“It will help me grow, and it will help everyone else grow too.
“I’ve endured defeats harder than this one. We will give our full effort to prepare for the next game.”
Alvaro Arbeloa was the coach of the Los Blancos B team, and took charge of Real Madrid this week after the sack of Xabi Alonso.
He also played for the team during his career in two separate seasons, from 2004 to 2005, and again from 2009 to 2016.
Alonso was sacked after just seven months at the club following their defeat to Barcelona in the Supercopa
