Nollywood star Uche Ogbodo is urging mothers to prioritize their own well-being, cautioning against losing themselves while focusing solely on family life.
In a post featuring a video of her transformed physique, Ogbodo encouraged, “Mums, invest in yourselves too. You deserve to feel and look amazing.”
She spoke openly about the emotional and physical demands of motherhood.
“On this journey, it’s easy to lose sight of yourself,” she explained. “We give birth, nurture, sacrifice, and pour so much into our children and partners that there’s often nothing left for us.”
The actress pointed out that constantly caring for others can lead to fatigue, body image struggles, and stress, all of which quietly take a toll on mental health and self-confidence.
Ogbodo also highlighted how neglecting personal care can affect relationships.
“When you stop caring for yourself, it can impact your relationship — communication shifts, intimacy fades, distance grows, and sometimes the person you’ve given everything to may walk away,” she said.
She stressed that motherhood should never come at the expense of a woman’s identity or sense of worth.
“You are still a woman, still beautiful, and still deserving of care, healing, and gentleness. Take time for yourself. Pour into yourself as much as you pour into others,” she advised.
Ending her message on a note of empowerment, Ogbodo added, “When a woman feels whole, she radiates not only for others but for herself as well.”
