Men of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested a teacher, Akanni Sunday, for allegedly raping and impregnating his 16-year-old student, Anifat Ahmed, in Osun State.
Akanni, a teacher with Tourchlife Premier School, Aga, Ido Osun, was also accused of a failed attempt to abort the pregnancy.
According to the Daily Trust, a human rights activist, Citizen Lola Wey, reported the case to the DSS to get justice for the victim.
Speaking to newsmen, Anifat said the suspect raped her in his house when she came to collect her notebook.
“Our teacher, Akanni Sunday, said I should come to his house to collect my French notebook. When I got there, he took me to his room and I later realised that he was alone at home. I shouted for help but nobody was there to help me. That was how he removed my clothes and raped me,” she explained.
