The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has approved the commencement of the Annual Tafsir (Ramadan lecture) at the Emir’s Palace from Monday.
This is contained in a statement by the Emir’s Spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, in Ilorin.
According to the statement,
“The annual tafsir lecture at the Emir’s Palace for the entire people of Ilorin Emirate and beyond will commence on Monday.
“The morning session is to be led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Dr. Muhammad-Bashir Imam-Soliu, together with the Imam Imale of Ilorin, Sheikh Abdullahi Abdulhamid.
“The Ajanasi Agba of Ilorin, Sheikh Mujitaba Yusuf Bature, will also be around In Shaa Allah, daily.
“The afternoon session would be led by the Imam Gambari of Ilorin, Sheikh AbdulAzeez Suleiman, together with the Chief Mufasir of Ilorin, Sheikh Mai-Masa and Mufasir Uthman Sannu Shehu.
“The afternoon session will be immediately after Asr prayers daily.”
The Emir, also the Chairman, Kwara Council of Chiefs, enjoined sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate to explore the opportunities provided during the glorious month to be closer to God.
He therefore prayed for the successful completion of the spiritual month and better days ahead for the country at large.
