Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has predicted that Manchester City will go ahead to win the Premier League title this season.

Carragher was speaking on Monday Night Football after all the Match Day 1 fixtures were completed.

City opened their latest title defence with a 2-0 win at Chelsea, while Arsenal also won by the same margin at home against Wolves.

“Man City go to Chelsea, whatever we say about them it’s still Stamford Bridge, they’ve still got big-name players, and they win,” Carragher said.

“Something that’s interesting about Arsenal, no team in Premier League history has improved their position five years in a row.

“Arsenal have done it four years in a row, and to go beyond where they did last year is going to be tough.”

Carragher also predicted Liverpool and Tottenham to finish in third and fourth positions respectively.
