Chelsea will rival Premier League clubs Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur for the signing of Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.

According to Foot Mercato, Chelsea have made contact with Todibo over the possibility of bringing him to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are said to be unsatisfied with their current crop of defenders in manager Mauricio Pochettino’s team.

Todibo has long been tipped to make a move to the Premier League having established himself as one of the best young centre-backs in the French Ligue 1.

Man United were closely linked with the Frenchman last summer but a deal never materialised after they failed to offload Harry Maguire.

However, the 24-year-old remains on their shortlist.

Also, in December it was reported that Tottenham had opened talks with Nice over signing Todibo, with their manager Ange Postecoglou desperately needing a new centre-back as Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are both injured.
