Chelsea is set to continue with Enzo Maresca as their manager, even if they fail to qualify for the Champions League next season, ESPN reports.

The Blues are still fighting to finish in the Premier League’s top five.

Maresca’s men could yet finish this campaign with a trophy, as they play Real Betis in the final of the Europa Conference League on May 28.

Although the Chelsea heirarchy would prefer a Champions League spot, Maresca will not be under pressure if the team falls short in either that aim or winning their first silverware since 2021.

Maresca signed a five-year deal last summer. The length of the Italian’s contract and the young profile of the current squad, means the club is prepared to persevere.

During his press conference on Thursday, Maresca said: “We didn’t speak about that to be honest.

“We didn’t have a conversation about if we are Champions League or if we are not Champions League.”
