Former Manchester United striker, Michael Owen has reacted to the team’s 2-0 win against Manchester City in the Premier League derby on Saturday.

Man United defeated Pep Guardiola’s side at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Two goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu gave Michael Carrick’s side the victory against the visitors.

Reacting, Owen, in a post on X after the game, believes the victory was an encouraging sign for Man United interim coach Michael Carrick.

‘This is as good as @ManUtd have played in a long time. Encouraging signs for Carrick,” Owen tweeted.

Man United will now face Arsenal in their next Premier League tie next weekend.

The victory leaves the Red Devils in fifth position on the Premier League table with 35 points from 22 matches.
