Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes, has revealed wrong comments made by Ruben Amorim during his time as the club’s manager.
Scholes was reacting to Amorim’s sack as Manchester United manager. He also spoke on where the Portuguese got it wrong at Old Trafford.
On Monday, Man United fired Amorim and appointed Darren Fletcher as caretaker coach.
Amorim’s sacking comes after Man United drew 1-1 with Leeds United in the Premier League over the weekend.
Speaking to Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, Scholes described Amorim as a very honest person, but admitted that the former Sporting Lisbon coach made wrong comments after the Grimsby game, where he said Man United players spoke out loud.
“I quite like him [Amorim]. He is very honest, but you can’t be too honest, as Adam says he is saying what every manager probably thinks,” Scholes said.
“At some point, you’re like I will hate him, I don’t like him, that is just the way you are about. I think there are so many experienced managers in the Premier League who will be thinking but they won’t say anything.
“The worst comments from him were after the Grimsby game. The one where he said the players spoke out loud, that they don’t want to play for him. I thought that was a little bit damning for him.”
