Manchester United’s U18 coach, Darren Fletcher, will take over the senior team until further notice.
This follows the club hierarchy’s decision to sack Ruben Amorim as manager on Monday.
Amorim was fired after meeting with the director of football, Jason Wilcox, and the chief executive, Omar Berrada, this morning.
Wilcox and Berrada informed the 40-year-old that he was being relieved of his duties.
Amorim then said his goodbyes to the players and left United’s Carrington training ground.
Fletcher is now expected to take charge for Wednesday’s Premier League game at Burnley.
The Red Devils currently sit in sixth place with 31 points after 20 fixtures.
