Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has identified the goalkeeper he believes Manchester United should sign to replace Andre Onana.

Speaking on The Premier League Show, Merson suggested that United should move for Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain to succeed the Cameroonian.

He argued that Onana does not “save points”, insisting Manchester United cannot win a major trophy with the former Inter Milan and Ajax goalkeeper in goal.

“For me, I would’ve said yes. You don’t win league titles, World Cups or European Championships without good goalkeepers,” Merson said.

“Onana does not save points, the goalkeepers lose points at Man United. That is a worry.

“They [Manchester United] need a new goalkeeper. I see [Gianluigi] Donnarumma’s around – why don’t they go for him?” he asked.
