Pep Guardiola has revealed what will happen if Manchester City fail to win the Premier League this season.

Guardiola said all he demands from his team is to fight until it is clear to them they stand no chance of claiming the title.

Addressing his post match press conference on Wednesday ahead of their trip to Stamford Bridge on Thursday night, Guardiola said his team will not give up the title race.

He said the moment it becomes obvious they cannot win the league, the Citizens would prepare their minds to try and compete again next season.

Manchester are currently eight points adrift of Arsenal but could close the gap to five points with a victory over Chelsea.

“My target always as a manager is to try to be yourself and be better than the opponent, and after if you concede one shot and they score and we can’t score, you have to accept it and move forward.

“What I want to see is us still fighting, not giving up, not now, until the last chance, until the last drop of water we can fight to win the Premier League, and the moment we are not able to win the Premier League we have to be ready to compete next season,” he said.
