Former Real Madrid and Manchester United attacker, Michael Owen has expressed his desire to see Liverpool win the Premier League.
However, he expects both Liverpool and Arsenal to be pipped in the title race by Manchester City, who have been in exceptional form this season.
Currently, there is only one point separating the top three teams, with just ten games remaining.
Arsenal has won all eight of their Premier League fixtures since the start of 2024 to move to the top of the table.
Liverpool, however, are the only team to break Pep Guardiola’s dominance and lift the title in the interrupted COVID-19 season of 2019-20.
Despite his heart being with Liverpool, Owen acknowledged that Manchester City is the best team in the world at the moment and has proven that.
He believes that Man City has more gears left and predicts them going into overdrive at this part of the season.
On the other hand, Owen thinks Arsenal and Liverpool might be playing at their peak at the moment.
Therefore, his head says that Manchester City will be crowned the Premier League champions at the end of the season, insisting they are the team to beat.
“My heart of course says Liverpool and I do think they have the easiest run-in,” Owen said on The Kelly and Wrighty Show.
“But I do think Man City are the best team in the world at the moment and they have proven that. My head says Manchester City.”
