Manchester United midfielder, Christian Eriksen says his team tried but obviously lost the game against West Ham on Sunday.

Eriksen said United started the game and were in a very good position to get a grip of the game before a slip by Goalkeeper David De Gea.

“Difficult to say but I think we tried. We started the game well and felt we were in a very good position to really get a good grip of the game.

“And then obviously we lose the ball and David slips. It becomes difficult to get the ball from then on.

“I think we tried. We have to bounce back. Sometimes you need extra kicks. Hopefully next time we do a lot better,” Eriksen told MUTV.

United are currently sitting 4th on the English Premiership table, a point above old rival club, Liverpool.

There are fears in some quarters that their hopes for top four is in jeopardy.
