Manchester City number one goalkeeper choice Gianluigi Donnarumma has reflected on his first few weeks in the Premier League with the former Champions.
The Italian was speaking during the international break where he expressed his delight that he joined Manchester City and how he has been able to settle into his role at the club. The Italian joined Manchester City from Paris Saint-Germain after things broke out between himself and Luis Enrique.
He said,
“I feel at home at Man City, even though it’s not been long since I moved there. They wanted me a lot, they made me feel important, and now, they already consider me one of their own”
Manchester City have completed the signing of Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth around £26 million.
The 25-year-old shot-stopper has penned a five-year contract with the Premier League champions, keeping him at the Etihad Stadium until 2030, with an option for an additional year. Donnarumma is set to wear the number 99 jersey, the same number he donned during his early years at AC Milan.
The move comes as Ederson departs for Fenerbahce, marking the end of an era for the Brazilian who played a key role in City’s domestic and European success. Donnarumma’s arrival signals Pep Guardiola’s intent to refresh his squad with a younger, equally commanding presence in goal. Known for his incredible reflexes, composure, and shot-stopping ability, the Italian international brings both experience and leadership, having already earned over 60 caps for his country and played in top-level competitions since his teenage years.
