Gunmen kidnap newly inducted medical radiographer, demand N200m ransom

Gunmen have abducted a medical radiographer, Basheerah Ojedeyi.

The Usman Dan Fodio University (UDUS) Sokoto graduate was kidnapped somewhere in Niger State as she was returning home after her induction ceremony.

The incident occurred around 8:pm on Monday, September 29, 2025.

The kidnappers have since contacted her family and demanded a ransom of N200,000,000 (Two Hundred Million Naira) for her release.

Attempts to negotiate or establish further communication are ongoing, but her current condition and location remain unknown.

It was gathered that security agencies have been notified and are actively investigating the case.

Ojedeyi’s abduction has caused widespread concern among her family, colleagues, and the healthcare community.

They have taken to social media to appeal to security agencies and relevant agencies to act swiftly to ensure her secure her safe release.
