Suspected militias on Sunday night killed two persons during an invasion of Kuru Station of Wereng Community, Riyom LGA, Plateau State.
Sources at the community said two persons have been confirmed dead at the moment.
Residents of community, who pleaded anonymity, confided with the Nation that the militias invaded the community and started shooting sporadically, killing and wounding people.
Another source within the community, said that the residents immediately raised the alarm as they cried for help.
However, the spokesman of Operation Safe Haven, (OPSH) in charge of Plateau , Bauchi and Kaduna States, Capt. James Oya confirmed the attack and added that they are on top of the situation at the time of this report.
He said the gunmen sporadically opened fire, while passing by and a bullet reportedly hit and killed one person.
