Nigerian pop star Olamide Adedeji has addressed his relationship with former YBNL artist Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake.

In 2024, Asake sparked rumors about leaving the label after unfollowing everyone associated with YBNL and deactivating his Instagram account. He also skipped a concert organized by Olamide that year, fueling speculation about his departure. At the time, neither Asake nor Olamide commented publicly on the situation.

During a recent interview with BBC Africa, Olamide finally spoke about Asake’s exit, emphasizing that their bond remains strong. He described their connection as familial, stressing that business decisions do not affect personal relationships. Olamide referred to Asake as his brother and noted that he maintains similar relationships with others who have left the label.

He said, “We are still family. He will always be my brother. Business ends, but life goes on; it’s never personal. This applies to everyone who has left.”

On his upcoming performance at the OVO Arena Wembley on Sunday, November 23, 2025, Olamide teased an energetic show, describing it as a “Lagos-style party in London.”

Olamide also shared how he manages the business and creative sides of his career. He explained that involving his team in business matters allows him to focus more on music and creativity. The star, who recently celebrated Seyi Tinubu’s birthday, admitted that balancing the two aspects hasn’t been easy but credited his team for helping him maintain that focus.
