Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, better known as Asake, has opened up on his relationship with his father.
In an interview on Kortyeo, he recalled leaving his father’s house when his dad opposed the pursuit of his musical dream.
Asake said he had a close relationship with his father when they were younger, and revealed that his father was more stubborn than he was, so he couldn’t look him in the face.
Asake said he left home at 15 and was focused on where he was going, and no one could change his mind.
“The father who gave birth to me, he’s more stubborn than I am. So I couldn’t look him in the face. We were close when I was younger, but I came to a point when I wanted to leave home to do what I am doing now, but my father said no. But I just took off regardless.
I was 15 then, focused on where I was going. And there was nothing anybody could tell me”.
The singer said his love for his father is still the same, and even if his father points a gun at him, he’ll always be his father. Asake made it known that he loves his father as much as he loves his mother.
In the spirit of Ramadan, Asake had gifted his mother a G-Wagon for Ramadan.
Not done, he had surprised his father with a new car. In viral videos, the Lonely At The Top corner was captured, presenting the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser, to his father, who was in awe.
