Adeyemi Kafayat, the wife of Nigerian singer Shanko Rasheed, has opened up on her marital ordeal with the singer.

Newsunplug reported days back that the couple had lost their son. The singer shared the sad news on his Instagram page, noting that no parent deserved such.

Shanko loses son

In an emotional interview with Biola Bayo, she said the singer accused her of killing their son. She claimed that he stormed the hospital where their son died, accusing her of being responsible. She said people stood up for her, and the doctor hid her somewhere.

Kafayat said the singer has taken custody of their remaining kids. She noted how he knows nothing about raising kids and has no stable home. According to her, he would smoke in the presence of their kids and was even beating their late son.

The mother of three said she hasn’t seen her kids in eight days and doesn’t know where they have been taken.

“When my son died, I called him. I didn’t even know my son had died.
They just told me to excuse them. I called Rasheed again. He came and started chasing me around, claiming that I was responsible for the death of his son.
People stood up for him, and the doctor hid me somewhere. I couldn’t have killed my son.

I raised Jamal with so much pain. I can’t kill him; everyone knows.
Jamal was the reason I didn’t get tired of life. He took my remaining two kids away. Someone who knows nothing about raising children.
He would smoke even in the presence of his children. I would be the one to take my kids off his premises.

I have not seen my children in eight days.
I don’t know where he has taken my children to.

He is homeless, and he sleeps anywhere.
It’s because he knows I have nobody”.

Kafayat revealed that Shanko was the one who deflowered her. She disclosed that she even lost a baby while with her, as he was always beating her and their late son.

“He was the one who disvirgined me.
The baby died inside me because of the stress I went through during the pregnancy.
I would run away from home to a friend, and he would still come there to beat me.
One day, he beat Jamal, and it was too much”.

She said that when their house rent expired, Shanko refused to renew it and had to live in a church.

“A year’s rent expired, and he couldn’t renew the rent. We were sleeping in the church.
My son fell sick, and I called his father. Please have mercy on me, help me with this boy.
I don’t have legs to take care of this boy”.

She alleged that when she told Shanko of their son’s illness, he told her he couldn’t come because he needed to fix his car.

“Today is the eighth day since my son died. Just come and see this boy, I don’t understand his breathing. My son was gradually leaving at that time. He said he couldn’t come because he needed to fix his car. That I should help him raise one hundred and sixty thousand. I did all I could, but the boy still died at the hospital”.
