Afrobeats sensation Davido has weighed in on his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s unexpected departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to Naija News, Governor Adeleke officially quit the PDP on November 4, 2025, though the development only became public on Monday evening.
A letter of resignation shared online by his aide, Olawale Rasheed, indicated that Adeleke left the party due to unresolved issues at the national level.
In his note to the Ward 2 chairman in Ede North, the governor expressed gratitude to the PDP for supporting his political journey from senator to governor. However, he explained that persistent internal disputes made it untenable for him to remain in the party.
Reacting on social media platform X, Davido simply wrote: “Jeje…”
The move has cast uncertainty over the Osun 2026 governorship primary. While the state PDP announced a delay in the primary citing internal disagreements, the party’s National Working Committee maintained that the election should go ahead.
Governor Adeleke remains the sole candidate who purchased nomination forms, further complicating the situation.
There is growing speculation that he could seek re-election under the Accord Party, with some aides reportedly already taking up significant roles within the new party.
Attempts to join the APC earlier were unsuccessful, as party leaders reportedly declined his application.
