Kwara State House of Assembly yesterday confirmed Justice Abiodun Adebara as the substantive Chief Judge (CJ).

Committee of the Whole House chaired by Speaker Yakubu Salihu considered the confirmation of Justice Adebara on the floor of the House.

The CJ promised to ensure speedy dispensation of justice.

He pledged a healthy and harmonious working relationship with the other two arms of the government, to move the state forward.

Adebara solicited more budgetary provision for the judiciary to address the problems of inadequate court rooms and other challenges in the third arm of government.

The lawmakers also confirmed the appointments of Abubakar Abdullahi Uthman, Oyedun Funke Juliana, Yusuf Abdulganiyu Aremu and Abdul Gana Lukpada as chairman and members of Fiscal Responsibility Commission.

Salihu directed the Clerk, Hajia Halimah Kperogi, to communicate the confirmation of the appointments to Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq.
