Tough contest as not less than 13 members of the APC have indicated interest for the Lagos East Senatorial District by-election.

The former occupant of the position, Bayo Osinowo, died on June 15, 2020, after a brief illness said to be connected with COVID-19.

Rumours have it that some of the leading contenders who have shown interest for the position in the APC are a former Lagos Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode; a former occupant of the position, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, a former House of Representatives member, Dayo Alebiosu-Bush, a former Lagos commissioner, Tola Kasali; and the Director-General of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri.

Although the APC is still mourning the death of the late Senator Bayo Oshinowo is popularly known as pepper.

There are speculations that a lot of underground lobbying is already going on for the position of the party flag bearer.

PDP Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi has also shown interest and is receiving massive support to contest on the platform of the umbrella party.

BOG, as he is popularly called, was a former governorship aspirant under the platform of AD in the last general election.

He is currently receiving massive public support from Lagosians who want to be set free from the Tinubu godfather politics.
