Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Moses Bliss, has revealed how visa complications prevented him from performing at a highly anticipated worship concert in Tanzania.

The Too Faithful crooner, who had earlier ministered in Kenya, was billed to fly into Dar es Salaam on October 2 for the free event, reportedly attended by over 60,000 worshippers.

However, his team encountered unexpected challenges with entry documents.

“Hello my family in Tanzania. I’m here in Tanzania right now, I’m not just allowed to come. It’s very unfortunate that I couldn’t make it to worship with us today. I heard there were about 60,000 of you who came out. I’m sorry, I did my best,” Bliss said in a video posted on Instagram.

Entry denied despite assurances

According to the gospel minister, the organising team had initially assured them that visas would be provided, and later advised his group to obtain them on arrival. But immigration officials at Dar es Salaam airport denied them entry after they landed at midnight.

“They told us we would get a visa on arrival, and we landed. We’ve been here now for about six hours. No way to go in, the immigration won’t let us in. Apparently, no visa on arrival again for us,” he recounted.

Bliss said his team reached out to various authorities, even seeking presidential intervention, but all efforts failed.

The singer described the ordeal as painful, citing the resources and planning invested in the event.

“We’ve spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to make this event absolutely free for you to just come and worship the Lord Jesus with us,” he lamented.

Apology and promise to return

Bliss apologised to his Tanzanian fans, expressing gratitude for their massive turnout and faith. He assured them of his commitment to return for another worship gathering.

“Tanzania, please hear me, you were not at fault. You came out in numbers, ready for God, and that moves me deeply. I owe you not just an apology, but a promise, by God’s grace, I will return,” he said.

The singer and his team later returned to Nairobi, Kenya, where he confirmed they would regroup and plan for a future visit.

Despite the disappointment, Moses Bliss said he was consoled by the love and support he received from Tanzanian worshippers, promising that the next opportunity would be bigger and better.
