Ange Postecoglou could the shortest serving manager in the history of the Premier League after he was appointed manager of Nottingham Forest.

The 60-year-old is expected to be in charge of the Premier League game against Chelsea despite last Sunday’s 2-0 Premier League loss at Newcastle United. The defeat against the Magpies as been viewed internally as a pivotal game in determining his future – has placed the former Tottenham boss’ position in further doubt having failed to secure a win in his first seven games across all competitions.

Postecoglou’s future at Nottingham Forest has been a major doubt going into international break, with all parties aware that there could be a parting of the ways. Marinakis is understood to have considered a number of options, including the current Fulham manager Marco Silva, but he would represent a major compensation issue, even if he was prepared to leave his current club.

Who could replace Ange Postecoglou at Nottingham Forest?

Former Burnley and Everton manager Sean Dyche could be Forest’s third manager this season. He lives in relatively close proximity to Nottingham and was a youth player at the club at the start of his career.

Forest supporters will hope that the club gets to sort out their coaching problem before the season gets busy.
