President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today, February 25, decorated Tunji Disu with the rank of Acting Inspector-General of Police at the State House, Abuja.
The decoration ceremony, which followed his swearing-in, was held at about 3pm. during an expanded session attended by top government and security officials.
With his elevation, the 59-year-old Lagos-born officer becomes Nigeria’s 23rd Inspector-General of Police.
His appointment, approved by President Tinubu on Tuesday, followed the resignation of his predecessor, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, whose exit was confirmed on the same day.
