Super Eagles midfielder, Frank Onyeka has opened up about his decision to join Frank Lampard’s Coventry City, turning down offers from clubs like Sheffield United and Valencia in the January transfer window.
In an interview with Coventry Telegraph, the 28-year-old explained, “[My journey began] when I had a call from Frank Lampard.
“[Our conversation made me realize] that the club is going in the right direction, and I wanted to be part of that progress.”
Onyeka also mentioned personal factors, stating, “Family reasons [played a key role in my choice] as I wanted to remain close to them. That is the reason I joined Coventry City.”
Onyeka will now look forward to making an impact in Coventry’s upcoming match against Middlesbrough on Monday.
