Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas has picked Cristiano Ronaldo as the better player ahead of Lionel Messi.
Navas chose the Portuguese forward after playing alongside him at Real Madrid, admitting that it was difficult to decide between the Ballon d’Or winners.
Speaking to Mexican television channel TUDN, the 38-year-old said (via BolaVIP): “It is hard.
“But if I had to choose, I think that, more than anything, because of the moment in which I lived, that I was with them, I would choose Cristiano.”
Ronaldo and Messi are now in the twilight of their football careers.
The duo is widely regarded as among the greatest players ever to play the game.
They have won 13 Ballon d’Ors between them.
Ronaldo currently plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, while Messi plays for the American club Inter Miami.
