Premier League legend, Alan Shearer has criticized Cristiano Ronaldo for his strange and ongoing strike at his club Al-Nassr.
The 41-year-old forward is set to miss his second straight game in a row to show disagreement with how the club is being managed.
Shearer, who remains the top goalscorer in Premier League history, talked about Cristiano Ronaldo’s strike during a conversation with Betfair.
He said that the forward should not go on strike because it’s not a good enough move for a superstar player of his level.
“There are not many people who earn over £400,000 a day and decide to go on strike. It’s probably a good feeling to say you’re not going to work even though you’re making that much money. It’s bizarre when you think about it,” the former England striker said.
“He’s a superstar, but going on strike at that level doesn’t look good.”
Ronaldo made his protest clear on transfer deadline day earlier this week by not playing for Al-Nassr in their match against Al-Riyadh.
News from media sources said the former Real Madrid player was not happy with how the Saudi Public Investment Fund used money during the January transfer window.
Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to keep his boycott protest at Al-Nassr even though he joined training before the match against Al-Ittihad.
Reports say he came back to training after the game but once again decided not to take part in the important match against Al-Ittihad later today.
