Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have killed a 23-year-old man identified as Dachung Luka Dung, in Rawuru community, Fan District (Gwol) in Barkin Ladi Local Government area of Plateau State.
According to the Nigerian Tribune, the incident occurred at about 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023, when the man was returning from a visit to a neighbouring community.
It was gathered that the assailants inflicted machete cuts on the man and shot him dead before they fled.
His remains were later discovered by some passersby who saw him in a pool of his blood and raised an alarm, which attracted other people within the vicinity to the scene of the incident.
The incident caused pandemonium and tension in the community as residents hurriedly went indoors for fear of attack by the gunmen, whom they suspected were still lurking within the area.
