Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspected internet fraudster, Precious Mayor, for allegedly torturing his apprentices at Igbogbo in the Ikorodu area of the state.
According to the PUNCH, the victims were said to have traveled from Imo State to receive instruction in cyber fraud from Mayor.
However, when they failed to meet their targets just a few days into their apprenticeship, Mayor reportedly confined them to a room and subjected them to physical harm.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident to the publication, said suspect was on Tuesday, August 26, 2023, arrested, along with his wife, Emmanuela Mayor and two other accomplices: Prince Afam and Israel Simon
“The victims were tortured and deprived of their freedom. The arrested suspects have been moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department,” the PPRO added.
