Liverpool are set to complete a double swoop for Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak and Crystal Palace captain, Marc Guehi, on transfer deadline day.

The Reds tried earlier in the summer to sign Isak, but they saw a 110m offer rejected by the Magpies.

The Swedish striker then went on strike to force the move, before he was banished from first-team training.

It down appears that Liverpool are ready to increase their bid, so they can finally land Isak before the window closes.

The Premier League champions, who defeated Arsenal 1-0 on Sunday, are also eyeing a move for Guehi.

Liverpool have already agreed personal terms with the England captain and are seeking to finalize club-to-club talks with Palace.

Guehi scored on what could be his final appearance for the Eagles on Sunday, as they thrashed Aston Villa 3-0.
