Manchester United outcast Rasmus Hojlund, was unhappy over the club’s decision to sign Benjamin Sesko.
The Athletic, via Metro, reports that the Danish striker believes he is a better player than Sesko.
The striker, according to the report, wanted to use this season to convince the Red Devils that signing him from Atalanta was not a mistake.
Hojlund, who is now on loan at Napoli, believes he was not given the needed time following his £72 million move to Old Trafford fee in the summer of 2023.
The striker failed to meet the expectations of Old Trafford fans despite the hefty price tag.
In 95 games for the Red Devils, the 22-year-old was able to net 26 goals and provide six assists.
Those in charge of transfer business at Old Trafford decided to replenish their attacking stocks this summer bringing in the likes of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Sesko.
Sesko, Slovenian international, joined Manchester United from RB Leipzig for a reported £66.3 million fee plus £7.4 million in add-ons.
Before going on loan, Benjamin Sesko was consistently dropped from the Man United squad with Sesko expected to be a direct replacement.
The Athletic reports that the Dane has been left ‘heartbroken’ over his exit from Manchester United.
The report added that he ‘considers himself better’ than Sesko, who has failed to find the back of the net in his four appearances so far.
