The Lagos State Parks and Garages Administrators have dismissed claims that the state government is responsible for the removal of Alhaji Musa Muhammed as the Chairman of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria.

The secretary of LASPAGA, Abdulrahman Amusan, in a press briefing on Monday, said his removal was carried out by members of the association.

He said,

“In view of speculations and allegations going around and the smear of character on the Lagos state government by Alhaji Musa Muhammed and his cohorts.

“It has become imperative for us as members to put the record straight and also enlightened the public as well as the Trade Union Congress and the Nigeria Labour Congress that the Lagos State Government should be absolved from the crisis between we the members of Lagos State Parks and Garages Administrators and Alhaji Musa Muhammed.

“Alhaji Musa Muhammed’s removal as the Lagos state chairman of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria was orchestrated by the members in Lagos state and not the Lagos state government.”

Amusan further disclosed that the embattled former union chairman was removed after being allegedly accused of mismanagement of the Association’s fund, reckless and unholy behaviour, abuse of office, divide and rule as well as high-handedness.

He added that the association during his time of leadership was in total disarray as he was fueling discord and hate amongst members.

“His style of tyrannical leadership was what lead to the fracases at Iyana Iba which prompted the Lagos state government to intervene in the lingering crisis so as not to allow the situation to degenerate into a breakdown of law and order in the state.

“It was the critical forensics of the conflict that led to the suspension of the association by the Lagos State Government. We state in clear terms that, the Lagos State Government therefore has nothing to do with Alhaji Musa Muhammed and the purported court order of the National Industrial Court he is relying on, which has already been appealed. Hence, there is no Court order presently for the Lagos state government to obey on the subject matter,” he added.
