Arsenal legend, Ian Wright, has backed referee Glenn Nyberg’s decision not to award Bukayo Saka a last-gasp penalty against Bayern Munich.

Saka was seen fuming when the final whistle after Nyberg waved him off, after he collided with Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer late into injury time.

The referee was unconvinced that Neuer had fouled the Arsenal winger and allowed play to continue.

But while Nyberg was booed by the home fans, not everyone connected with the North London club was convinced it should have been a penalty.

Wright backed Nyberg’s decision and urged the team to focus on the second leg.

He tweeted: “Not a pen for me. Work to do in Munich.”

The second leg will be played at the Allianz Arena next Wednesday.
