Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen, has shared details of his conversations with two Liverpool players, after he suffered an arm injury in their Champions League last-16 second leg clash.

The Turkish champions travelled to Anfield with a slender 1-0 advantage.

But seven minutes into the return leg, their hopes were dented, after Osimhen fractured his right forearm after bumping into Ibrahima Konate.

While the Nigerian striker was receiving treatment on the pitch, Liverpool midfielder, Dominik Szoboszlai, felt he was intentionally wasting time, and urged him to get up, leading to a fierce exchange of words.

Osimhen was eventually replaced at halftime by Leroy Sane, despite his brave attempts to continue playing.

Liverpool ended up winning 4-0 on the night with goals from Szoboszlai, Hugo Ekitike, Ryan Gravenberch, and Mohamed Salah.

Speaking on a livestream with Carter Efe, Osimhen confirmed that Szoboszlai and Konate reached out to him after the game to apologise for the on-field altercation.

He said: “Szoboszlai and I had an on-field conversation.

“After the game, he came to meet me and mentioned he didn’t know the injury was as serious.

“Konate also messaged me on Instagram and told me he didn’t mean to harm me. It’s football, these things happen.”
