A 17-year-old boy, Teddy Onwuchekwa, has reached out to social media activist Verydarkman for help in locating his estranged Nigerian father, decades after he disappeared from his life.

Teddy, who was born and raised in London to an English mother and a Nigerian father, said his father left when he was just two years old, leaving him with no information about his whereabouts.

According to the teenager, repeated efforts to trace his father over the years have been unsuccessful.

The teen said …

“Good evening Verydarkman, my name is Teddy Onwuchekwa and I’m 17 years old. I am London born of an English mother and a Nigerian father. His name was Derrick Onwuchekwa. He left when I was 2 years old and I don’t know where he is or how I can find him. I’d be very happy if you help me locate him. I have pictures of my granddad and my father to help locate him.”

In response, VeryDarkman shared the young boy’s story on social media and displayed photographs said to be of Teddy’s father and grandfather.

He appealed to the public to help circulate the images and provide any information that could lead to locating the family.
