A man was flogged mercilessly by women in his community for being abusive towards his wife.
According to reports, the man was nicknamed “Father Lion” due to his habit of beating his wife at their home in the Bojongo neighbourhood in Bonaberi, Douala, Cameroon.
When neighbours heard his wife crying out again as she endured beatings, the women in the neighbourhood decided to intervene.
A video shared online shows women holding sticks as they surround the man. The man held a machete with which he tried to detend himself as he warned the women to stay away from him. But that was not enough to stop the women who flogged him repeatedly.
Soon, a man arrives at the scene and wrestles the machete from the man before flogging him with it.
Seeing that he had lost the machete, the women intensified the beatings and also insulted the man until he hastily walked into a hut to avoid their wrath.
A voice in the video is heard saying, “The man na craze man.”
