PSV Eindhoven midfielder Xavi Simons has snubbed his former PSG teammates Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe when he revealed the best player he has played with at the French Ligue1 side.
He believes that PSG’s star Marco Veratti is the best player he has played with.
Simons was a PSG player for two years and was at the French capital from the 2020-21 season to 2021-22, sharing the dressing room with the likes of superstars Mbappe, Messi and Neymar Jr.
He made 11 appearances and speaking to AD, he explained why he chose Veratti ahead of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
“I am often asked: who is the best player I have played with in Paris? So I can answer: Messi or Mbappé, but everyone already knows how good they are, and Marco Verratti, a lot of people don’t.
“Verratti is my favorite player. He doesn’t score a lot of goals or give a lot of assists, but he’s so important.”
