Social media activist VeryDarkMan has raised concerns over the reported disappearance of activist Livinus Nwosu, claiming he was allegedly taken by armed men during voter sensitisation activities in Bayelsa State.

According to online reports, Nwosu was said to have been intercepted by masked men dressed in black while he was leading residents in efforts to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

His wife is also said to have contacted VeryDarkMan and members of the Ratel Movement after she was unable to reach or locate him.

Reacting to the situation, VeryDarkMan alleged that the incident may be connected to Nwosu’s ongoing voter education campaign, which reportedly focused on discouraging vote-buying and promoting civic participation and voter registration across communities.

He further suggested that the development could be aimed at suppressing  political awareness among young people and disrupting grassroots mobilisation efforts.

The activist also stated that attempts would be made to engage security agencies in Bayelsa State for clarification, while also promising possible legal support if needed.

He used the incident to criticise the administration of President Bola Tinubu, arguing that more should be done to address pressing national issues.

As of the time of reporting, authorities have not issued any official statement confirming Nwosu’s whereabouts or the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident.

The situation remains unverified, with many Nigerians calling on relevant security agencies to provide clear information and ensure transparency.

His words â€Ĥ

“Livinus Nwosu has been picked up by armed gunmen putting on black. His wife just reached out to me this evening. This is a move by president Tinubu government to silence the youths and to stop the sensitisation that is currently going on. They have seen that the youths are very active and the youths really want to get their PVC and they’re ready to vote. They’re doing all of this in order to scare the people and to distract the people.

Livinus Nwosu was picked up in Bayelsa state. God so kind it happened in public, they’ll go and meet the Bayelsa state police and we’ll send a lawyer there.

Whether you people like it or not we will create this awareness. Gone are the days when you’ll just go give people 5K Naira and bag of rice for them to vote for you, no.

President Tinubu you have failed. You have failed to protect the lives of the citizens of Nigeria. You don’t deserve a second chanceâ€Ĥ”
