The widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, Wunmi Aloba, has seemingly reacted to the latest controversy surrounding her after social media commentator VeryDarkMan made fresh allegations against her.
Rather than directly responding to the claims, Wunmi took to her Instagram Stories on August 17, 2026, where she shared two brief meme clips originally posted by TikToker DJ Chicken.
One of the clips featured a message describing an unnamed person as “foolish and dumb.”
The second meme appeared to carry a more pointed message, warning people against trying to predict someone’s next move.
“You want me to talk too much online so you can know my next plan? Dey play. You can’t know my next action and plans. I will shock you.”
Although Wunmi did not identify anyone or provide context for the posts, their timing has sparked speculation among social media users, particularly because they came shortly after VeryDarkMan made fresh allegations against her.
In a video shared on August 16, 2026, VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, raised questions about documents allegedly connected to Wunmi and her late husband’s estate.
The activist claimed there was a discrepancy between the surname on Wunmi’s renewed passport and the one attached to her National Identification Number (NIN). According to him, the passport reportedly bears the surname Adebanjo, while her NIN carries Aloba.
VeryDarkMan described the alleged inconsistency as suspicious and accused Wunmi of manipulating documents to gain access to her late husband’s estate.
He also revisited unresolved issues surrounding Mohbad’s death and questioned the singer’s brother, Adura Aloba, over what he described as his silence regarding events surrounding the singer’s final days.
Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, died in September 2023 at the age of 27, with circumstances surrounding his death continuing to generate public debate.
Wunmi has yet to directly address the latest allegations from VeryDarkMan. Instead, her decision to share the cryptic memes has left many followers wondering whether the posts were intended as an indirect response to the controversy.
