Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has suggested that Arsenal star, Eberechi Eze is sacrificing parts of his game under manager Mikel Arteta’s tactics at the club.
Ferdinand noted that Eze seems to have shed the individual flair that made him a standout performer during his time at Crystal Palace.
This observation follows Eze’s impressive brace in Arsenal’s 4-1 victory over Tottenham in the latest Premier League London derby.
On his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand Presents, he said, “In discussions with friends, we’ve been wondering, ‘Where is the best version of Eze?’ He should focus on playing one-twos and drawing defenders out, as he did with his second goal, capitalizing on Saka’s miss.”
“I was talking to my mates in the WhatsApp group about Eze, and we were saying,’ “Why are we not seeing the best of him?”‘
“Eze needs to play one-twos, draw opponents out of their positions, but I think he is playing more for the team than for himself.
“If you are going to win championships, sometimes you’ve to sacrifice parts of your game to do that. We are yet to see the Crystal Palace Eze in an Arsenal shirt.”
