A 16-year-old girl was on Monday, 23rd February 2026, arraigned before a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Badagry, Lagos State, over an alleged threat to k!ll a 15-year-old girl accused of “snatching” her boyfriend.

The defendant, whose name and address were withheld due to her age, is facing charges of threat to k!ll and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace.

She pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Friday Mameh, told the court that the incident occurred on 20th February at about 9:pm at Khalakuta Jegba Quarters, Badagry.

“The defendant used a razor blade to cut the face of the complainant so that she would leave her boyfriend for her,” the prosecutor said.

He further told the court that the defendant’s actions caused panic in the area.

“She conducted herself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace by creating pandemonium in the neighbourhood,” he added.

According to the prosecution, the complainant sustained injuries and the defendant was subsequently arrested and handed over to the police.

“The offences contravened Sections 230 and 168 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,” Mameh said.
